LET'S GET CRAFTY!

Hi everyone!

Lately, I was faced with a dilemma. I was redecorating and cleaning my room when I realizes that my window curtain is too long. You see, my room's air conditioning unit is located below my window. So if I let the curtains hang low, it will conceal the a/c unit and will definitely block the air.

Luckily, I have some cutesy scrapbooking materials I bought a long time ago that I haven't used. I'm kind of an impulsive buyer, that's why. (More on that in my next post. LOL) This material is made of just plywood, I think. They're clips that can hold your documents or photos and it comes with a paper-wire where you can hang them. Since I wasn't using it yet, I decided that i can use it to solve my decoration woes.

My curtain with the cute heart-shaped pins!

And I was right! Not only did they serve its purpose, but they kind of look cute too! Plus points for that. Before, I would just use pins since I really don't allow myself to get creative most of the times. LOL

First of three pins: KISS

Second pin: LOVE

Last pin: full of Hearts!

Sometimes, we really need to be resourceful. We don't really have to buy the things we don't have to solve our design/decorating problems. Take a look around, you might find something in the corner or your old boxes. Let's embrace creativity!

Just "brows"

Hi everyone!

This is totally not a make up post. I just wanted to see the difference of a full brow on a bare face. Ever since Sunday afternoon, I have been developing some sort of rash/allergy. I went to the doctor yesterday and I'm just gonna have to start with a hypoallergenic diet and medication.

With that said, I'm a little scared of putting on foundation thinking it might also cause itching on my face. I really need something to make me look "alive" today so I decided to just shape my brows! ☺

Here's the products that I used in filling my brows:

Mary Kay Signature Brow Definer Pencil in Brunette
Brunette

Dual brush (brows/eyes) I got from the department store
NERD. ;P

Hi! :)

Yes, I took photos in the office! LOL

I feel/look fresh even without foundation on!

Quite shallow, but doing my brows made me feel a little better despite having to endure the itch all over my body! Haha!

Happy Tuesday!

Youtube-ing

Hi there!

I know you're very familiar with "youtube". I have been a member since 2010 and it was only last year that I uploaded a video of my cousin singing "Betty Davis Eyes"! LOL I just use my account just to subscribe to channels that I think would inspire me to be creative just when I think I'm having that "Oh-my-gosh-I'm-so-bored-my-brain's-not-working" moment. Youtube is where most people show their talents and they get famous for it!

I, however, do not want to get famous for anything really. It's where I can just let loose, methinks. Anyway, most people close to me know that I LOVE MAKE-UP! Any brand, any color, as long as it doesn't have lead content then I will use it! I have a small collection here at home and every time I get that paycheck, better be sure I have a little something to take home from the beauty counter: make-up, nail polish, etc! One attendant even told me once that I never leave the counter without buying anything! Haha! Oh well! Moving on, I recently made a video "tutorial". It's funny really, I was too early at work and filmed and edited it just using my iPhone!

Check it out and let me know what you think!

P.S.:
Go easy on me, I'm a neophyte! ;)

Now Playing: Pitch Perfect

I know I may be late on this, but I have already seen this movie 5 times in 2 days! 2 days! I can only tolerate a few so-so movies and there's only a handful of movies I love to watch countless of times (like Enemy at the Gates, 50 First Dates, The Devil Wears Prada, Sex and the City 1&2, Titanic and very few Filipino movies). I allow myself to drown in chick flicks especially when I'm PMS-ing and looking for something to comfort me. When I can't find that comfort in food, I watch movies.

The first time I saw this movie was with my siblings and I was not in the mood so I didn't really see the whole movie. The second time was at the office, when my office-mate told me she's already seen it. Since then, I have been watching it until Sunday when I let my boyfriend see the movie after we had breakfast. Right now, I'm itching to watch it again!

Sure, there's GLEE that we can compare it with (although I'm so bored with Glee right now, no offense). However, I don't think they're both even the same (well, except for their Broadway-experienced stars). There's something inviting about this movie that it immerses you into the story. The movie has attitude, aside from the comical antics of Rebel Wilson (who plays "Fat Amy") who is SUPER HILARIOUS! I think she made the movie super funny in a way. I also love (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!) Beca's character! I love her. She's spunky and so cool. Anna Kendrick is a surprise to me because well,  I just saw her in Twilight. I was so shocked that she sings REALLY WELL! Of course, add that to the fact that I did not know that she used to do Broadway. Amazing voice! Can I just also say that even though the story is just light, no heavy dramas (despite the early resentment Beca has for her dad on his divorce to her mom, thank goodness!), it's very appealing and it made sense. I love that even the story is just light, they do not make it feel nor look like the movie's dull or the excitement you get when watching is just fleeting.

To get a grasp on what I'm talking about (if you guys haven't seen the movie yet) please check out the videos below. :)

Fruit of your Passion

I am close to working for 10 months in my current company. I have not stayed this long in any other job, except the one I got when I was working three times a week for a Church as their bookkeeper. There have been offers for me lately but I do not seem to be interested in them, even if they're offering me a higher salary and a regular post. You see, I am only a project hire employee which means that when this project ends so does my employment. I have had a renewal of four months and that contract is expiring by the end of next month.

I know I will be given another contract since I was the one who started or piloted  under the VisMin operation. I don't know if that will earn merit in terms of changing my status into a "regular" employee and that remains to be seen. I was just confident that I will be renewed for an extension/ another contract since I have fared well, based on my KRA.

Today, I was not expecting any good news at all. We had a meeting at around 10AM and ended up at around 2PM. We were not able to have lunch up until we finished with the meeting. Meetings are draining but the upside is that you learn and things get resolved. After lunch I was back to my laptop, checking e-mails and updating my monitoring list when my boss called me up. I was thinking "Oh great! There might be a problem..." since we just parted after meeting and lunch now she's calling!

To my surprise, she just called me to inform me that she has all the materials I need, my payslips, and I have a letter. I realized then that I was not able to inform her about my expiring contract. I then told her about my status and she assured me that a new contract is on it's way. I was so happy to hear that! I love working for this company and I have not had major problems since I started. And I love my boss. I have developed a closer relationship with her that she really looks out for me and takes good care of me. She's a great boss- encouraging, helpful and insightful. I wish I could be like her if in case I stay for even longer.

I am just ecstatic that I'm still here and I have a job to keep me happy. It truly is great if you do things with passion because it becomes fruitful. It makes sense to you, and does not make you feel like you are burdened or bombarded with senseless information and work. Construction, operation and customer relations may not have been my strengths but I acquired a certain respect for it and for people who make things/systems work. Passion fuels us to become better and in return we reap rewards. I have learned that whatever you may be doing, be it your strength or not, as long as you have passion, you will excel.

How about you, what's your passion?

Mauve-y Monday

So lazy to work today, I managed to squeeze in this post! LOL

Just yesterday, I went through my make up kit and I realized that I've amassed a number of lipsticks! So today, I'm going to post one of the many pinkish/rose shades I own. I've had this for a while now but I have stopped wearing pinks in favor of scarlet hues, just because I think it compliments my skin tone.

Today's lipstick is Mauve (sheer) by CoverGirl. This was given to me by my sister as a gift. It's not that dark as suggested on the bottom of the bottle but it's a little more lighter, rose-like.

Mauve by CoverGirl

Obviously has been used a lot! :)
It's a little sheer so you'd need to apply twice or thrice to get the color/shade of your preference. I like how it compliments my morena skin tone but for me, I think it would best suit fair skin tones.
How it looks on my lips.

A little bright pink rather than old rose.

So what's your lip shade today? :)

Running out of excuses

Today, I have run out of excuses.

I tried to walk/run/jog again today after work and only reached about 1.9 miles so that's a little under 2 kilometers. I finished in less than 30 minutes and I felt so tired after that. I realized that I have not exercised in a very long time (hence the intense accumulated weight gain).

I usually put things off like this because I'd rather relax after work, and by relax means lounging in the sofa and watching reality shows which I'm a sucker for! I used to be so skinny that my dad scolds me from time to time because I keep buying new jeans because the others/ old ones are a little loose on me.

Fast forward to 2011 when I thought I was at my biggest/heaviest. I wanted to try going to the gym but I finally decided not to because I'm usually super lazy and I am not that religious in following exercise routines. Right now, I am at my heaviest. I have been wanting to enroll myself into a gym but I'm still keeping that as an option. For now, I will be running/walking/jogging not necessarily everyday but I will try and make it three times a week to see how I will fare, with additional cardio and endurance training at home. I hope I can finally have myself commit to such a tedious process. I have allowed myself to do that a few months back.

The only thing I want to see going down is my weight.

Goodnight!

P.S.:

No more binge eating! 😊

Ola, 2013!

Happy New Year! 😃🎊🎉

2012 went by so fast! T'was a year that I set myself to be really stable and content, especially career-wise. I learned a lot, had a few disappointments but I survived them against all odds. It was a year I proved God's faithfulness in my life. I got a better job, had my 1st experience of traveling outside of the country, and got semi-officially engaged! 😉

So cheers to all of us who had a wonderful year and here's to hoping for an even better, if not one of the best year of prosperity, happiness and love!

Bring it on, 2013! God bless us all!

❤❤❤

P.S.:

Will upload photos and update this blog soonest! Happy new year once again!

Fresh Start

Time to... update!

So here's what I have been busy with lately:
for checking and making notes

Monitoring... EVERYDAY!

Usual kicks. #chucks

Nike trainers on site

THE LIST

Hello from me! :)

Just started...

Progress...
Aaaand yes, I now work for a real estate company and I always make this clear, I do not sell houses! I'm part of internal operations and this is what my life is usually. Monitoring lists, counter-checking, site visits, making reports...and that's just a fraction of my job. Part of it is making clients happy and well-accommodated,  and part of it is making sure deliverable goods are of good quality and on time. It's all very new to me since I haven't been really exposed to real estate. I learned now of how things really work. I'm so happy that I'm part of the operations because I am so exposed to a lot of things- mostly engineering which I was really so clueless when I started. Now, I have picked up a few things along the way. I kind of like it too, since they're making me go back and forth from Iloilo to Bacolod and vice-versa. I cannot wait when they take me to other places. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that. It seems like it was just a few weeks when I started but boy! I have been in this position for almost two months! Yikes! Time flies so fast! Good thing I love my job! It's more fun when I'm working on site. I get to go around the village and see the progress of each unit. I get amazed with things like that- especially when it's new to me. I really hope that I do not lose this passion and appreciation for this job because it doesn't feel like a job- well, sometimes it does. But it really is true what they say- if you're happy with what you do, it becomes less of a job.

Love what you do and be happy!

HARD CANDY

It has almost been a month since my last post.  I have been very busy lately with work, errands at home and my new-found hobby cum business. Lately I've been staying up later than usual jut to make more and more items and also because I have orders already lined up for this month. I started this venture late last year but I wasn't able to market them well because I was so caught up with the Holidays and finding another job. The only thing I put up though, was its facebook page and I've only updated a few months back. I'm so happy right now with the support my friends and family are giving me. My sales are just going up and now, I have people interested in reselling my items and ordering in bulk. :) I am so H-A-P-P-Y! ...and BUSY! LOL

Anyway, here are a few  snapshots of what I'm currently busy with: HANDMADE ACCESSORIES!

If you click through the link above, you'll be able to see all accessories I've made so far. It's a new found hobby although arts and crafts has been passed on to us from my grandmother then to my mom then to me and my sister. Forgive my last 3 photos as they show you my messy work station! :)

Contact me on facebook if you want to buy or order these items! ;)
