Polish Files

One day, a passing idea came into mind: Pam Pastor's blog, www.polishpolice.com. I saw an article about her on Preview magazine, which I buy every month. So while I was on my iPad one day, I though of visiting her blog and whoah! I was surprised and felt a little sensation. I was in polish heaven! Although I have to admit that most of the polishes she uses are expensive for me, I still think that it's nice that she does try nail polishes that aren't too expensive and locally made.

Most of the time I do my mani-pedi because I save money that way and I don't like the way nail technicians of some salons work that eventually gets my toes bleeding and in the end I develop an ingrown. Besides, I do my nails perfectly well- even better than when I have it done in the salon athough I take my time when I do.

SO here are a couple of photos of my nails which I did on my own. Enjoy! Will do another post on this. :)o

A few days ago I had  an interview and my nail polish was too girly and not interview-friendly so I opted for something that will not grab the attention of my "future bosses". :)

Etude House nail polish. A light brown shade with a touch of pink  and purple.

This was my nail polish before I had my interview. Glossy Pink from local brand Bobbie with A hint of Baby Blue from Etude House.

My Win Off A Bet

Every NBA Season every year, my boyfriend and I always have bets on who would win the Championship. My boyfriend is a bigtime Laker fan. Me, on the other hand, do not have a specific team that I like so much. My preference depends on which team is playing well during the season or before the playoffs. This time, my bets were on the Chicago Bulls for obvious reasons: D-Rose, #1 on the East and #1 overall. However, as bad luck would have it, they didn't make it to the finals. I had my sights on Dallas Mavericks. Meanwhile, my boyfriend had his eyes on Miami next to the Lakers.

As you all know, the Lakers didn't even make it to the finals. So it was Miami-Dallas, just like in 2006. People called it the rematch, revenge on the Dallas side, and some predicted a repeat from Miami. My boyfriend decided on Miami and I went to bet on Dallas. Our bets before were usually dates (food, movie, etc) and a very rare Havaianas bet (which I won). This time, our bet was a lunch date worth 500 pesos. Hahahaha! My choice was a date in Sbarro and his choice was a lunch date in KFC.

It's actually quite funny if you think about it. Even if one of us wins, we both still get to eat! Hahaha! But this is one thing that we both enjoy. Physically, people will never see me as a sports fan but I really am. I do enjoy watching basketball, soccer/football, volleyball, table tennis, etc. I used to swim and play table tennis and my boyfriend is an all-around sports "enthusiast" and a former varsity player (basketball) hence our excitement every time it's NBA season. :)

Anyway, here are the few photos I snapped!
